With E ART H /1, Caterina Moro introduces a new chapter in the brand’s evolution, rooted in its central vision: E ART H — Earth as Art. Mother Nature is the greatest living artist; the designer’s role is to translate her expressions into forms, surfaces and garments that bring nature back onto urban bodies.

Designed as unisex, the garments reflect the belief that nature creates bodies, while gender is a human construction.

E ART H /1 also marks Caterina Moro’s departure from the traditional seasonal system. The collection unfolds through a small, seasonless capsule produced in strictly limited quantities, with each piece individually numbered like an artist’s edition. This approach represents a conscious act of responsibility: giving every garment the time, care and value of an object made to remain.

Created in collaboration with visual artist Germano Serafini, the capsule’s four prints — Fresh Meadow, Dry Meadow, Pink Threads and Macro Micro Big Bang — originate from natural elements collected across the Roman landscape. Flowers, plants, pollen and feathers were arranged directly on a photographic scanner, revealing textures and structures otherwise invisible to the human eye. The resulting compositions become three-authored works by Caterina Moro, Germano Serafini and Mother Nature.

UNIQUE PRINT PLACEMENT

Our print layouts are designed so that no two garments are ever identical: each cut reveals a different fragment of the natural composition, making every piece entirely unique and individually numbered like an artist’s edition.

You may find a tiny snail resting on a shoulder or pocket, a mallow flower appearing unexpectedly across the fabric, or a feather emerging from a jacket pocket or along the hem of a skirt. Nature chooses where to reveal itself on each garment.

The Leaf Veins motif echoes the natural correspondence between the human rib cage and the veins of a leaf. Applied to two everyday archetypes—the white shirt and white T-shirt—it brings this connection between body and nature into daily life.

On cotton poplin, the embossing is developed with Bond Factory (Pattern Gruop); on the T-shirt, the motif is knitted in relief with SMT – Società Manifattura Tessile (Pattern Gruoup) using an innovative recycled-paper-blend yarn.

Innovative Made in Italy knitwear is one of Caterina Moro’s core areas of research.

The Tree of Life stitch, an icon of the brand, is reinterpreted in macro scale for this capsule in a soft cotton-and-cashmere blend and in a custom-made experimental version crafted from recycled nylon using innovative knitting machinery.

Both versions are developed in collaboration with SMT – Società Manifattura Tessile (Pattern Group), translating the organic structure of a tree into a three-dimensional surface.
