HEIMA 21
Heima — Icelandic for “at home” or “homeland” — is the title of the Sigur Rós documentary that inspired this collection: an intimate work that brings the viewer closer to the essence of the performance, revealing what usually remains unseen. That sense of proximity and truth becomes the starting point for HEIMA.
HEIMA explores an idea of “home” rooted not in interiors, but in the natural world. A place made of textures, colours and forms drawn from forests and northern landscapes—mushrooms, lichens, leaves. A vision of nature as luxury, where connection replaces excess and simplicity acquires depth.
The “Mushrooms” and “Leaves” patterns were created in collaboration with Italian artist Germano Serafini. In the darkroom, natural fragments from the forest become brushes: leaves and mushrooms move directly across photographic paper, recalling the gesture of Japanese watercolours. The pattern emerges from the poetic act of painting with nature.
Materials echo this sensibility: pleated denim, knitted wools, organic fabrics and textured surfaces that reference bark, moss and undergrowth. The palette blends earthy tones with muted arctic hues—snow, stone, lichen, pine, mist.
HEIMA is a return to the earth as home.
